Canaan-2-Canaan Ride

According to a website, there are 19 towns in the USA named Canaan. We’ll tackle two in this ride, starting in Canaan, CT just south of the Mass border and ending in Canaan, NY, just West of the Mass border. The two are only about 30 miles as the crow flies. But the scenic route will stretch it to 82 miles, winding south through Litchfield, CT before heading west and then North into the beautiful Hudson Valley of Dutchess and Columbia Counties. Destination is Smokey Sweet BBQ. Haven’t experienced it but plan to do so before the ride. One stop about half way at a Stewart’s in Pine Plains to stretch the legs and do whatever.

Start is the McDonald's in Canaan, CT , 18 East Main St. (which is also both RT 7 and 44). There is a Shell station ¼ mile east to top off the tank if necessary. Plan on meeting at 10:00 AM with kick stands up at 10:30. With the one stop, rolling into a well deserved lunch around 1:00 PM. This is a Friday ride that may limit participation due to the W word. But the roads are certainly less cage cluttered and well worth the sacrifice of burning a vacation day for those of us that still W. Please register so I know to head to Mac’s. Thanks.
