NW COG 2021 Volcano Ride

Join us as Charlie Gary once again takes us on another Volcano Ride on August 7th, 2021.  We’ll meet at 8:30am for breakfast at The Little Crane Café in Vader, WA 98593.  The plan is to depart the café at 9:30 am for a ride up to the Johnston Ridge Observatory.  The observatory building is closed, but the parking area and viewing patio are still available for use, as are the restrooms.

From the Johnston Ridge Observatory we will go back down WA 504 to Tower Road, which provides a nice detour around the town of Toutle and tourist traffic.  We’ll have a gas stop at the Shell station at 1204 Spirit Lake Hwy, Castle Rock, WA 98611 before getting back on 504 for the short ride to El Compadre Restaurant, 1289 Mt St Helens Way NE, Castle Rock, WA 98611 for lunch.

The ride route after lunch is still under construction, but we’ll figure out something fun and scenic.

Announcement Regarding COVID-19 

Please come prepared to follow to follow local guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.  Each person is responsible for monitoring their own health.  If you feel sick, or if you've been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, please stay home.

There are no registration fees, but we are asking everyone to register online so we have an idea of how many people to expect.
