    Run with the Wolf
The 2021, 27th edition of Run with the Wolf is open for registration.  This year’s rally committee is made up of Mike Laven and Ron Simmons (with guidance and support from Jerry Holland).

All are welcome to this four day rally, so if you are considering a full membership in the Concours Owners Group (COG), please come and meet us, see how we do things in SECOG, and maybe you'll be convinced to become a member.  We might grow on you, and you'll meet some great people who love to ride.

If you are unable to come for the full four days, come for as long as you can. But please don't miss the biggest rally in the southeast area.  Hopefully this year will be beautiful weather and we can have a full house (and be on the downside of COVID, dog gone it!).

The Southeast members are known to enjoy a good bonfire, so we'll have a large common area for our nightly fire.  As our members are also known to go late into the night around the fire, we've made arrangements to have a good supply of wood available.  SECOG members are the most experienced campers in all of COG, so expect all of the usual things that we like.

    Food
Included in the rally fee is a Saturday night banquet BBQ dinner catered by the TWoS staff.  Remember to wear the wristband you will receive at check-in to the banquet dinner (no wristband = no dinner).  Having a headcount is also crucial for the TWoS staff to plan for our meal (so please try to register early!).

    Camping & Lodging

    Camping
Two Wheels of Suches (TWoS), also known as TWO (Two Wheels Only), has been totally remodeled, featuring all new bath houses and rest rooms, and the main lodge has gone through a complete rebuild, with a new kitchen and loft sleeping quarters.  Due to issues surrounding Covid and downturn of attendance this past year and need to support TWO, the camping rate is now $15 over night.  Dang - that's reasonable!

Once again this year, TWoS will have 3 camp sites that will have electricity available for those who need it (e.g., if you have a CPAP or a need where electricity is important to your health).

You don't need to make reservations if you are tent camping.

    Cabins
TWoS also has 8 cabins available for booking.  These will go fast, so make your reservation as soon as possible.

To check on availability or make a reservation for one of the cabins or a lodge room, use TWoS' new online booking system at https://twowheelsofsuches.com/contact-us/ or call (706) 973-1671.

    Lodge Rooms
TWoS also has a limited number of lodge rooms available on a first come first served basis.  Make your reservations early for a lodge room or a cabin if you don't plan to tent camp.  Mention COG when booking a cabin or lodge room.

    RV Parking
There is limited RV parking but NO hookups at TWoS.  If you need/want hookups, there are other camping resorts nearby.  Please google those.

    Special Announcement Regarding COVID-19

Please come prepared to follow to follow local guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.

Each person is responsible for monitoring their own health.  If you feel sick, or if you've been in close contact with someone who has recently tested positive, please stay home.

    Registration/Fees
Registration fee is $30.00 for COG Members/Associate Members, and $40.00 for guests and non-members (including Forum-Only subscribers).

When you arrive, look for the COG check in point on the deck to the left of the lodge.  At check-in, you will receive a wristband that will be needed for the banquet dinner on Saturday.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Registration closes at 11:59 pm (EDT) on September 1, 2021.

    Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancellations will be accepted up through September 1, 2021.  Refunds will be paid by check (minus a $10 administration fee) and sent via USPS after the event.  There will be no refunds for cancellations made after 09/01/21.

    Friday

Gathering Friday evening in Jamestown, with rally headquarters at America’s Best Value Inn & Suites Royal Carriage in Jamestown, CA.  Dinner will be across the street at The Service Station, then the group can swap lies in the outdoor patio behind the hotel.

The Royal Carriage is discounting and holding 7 rooms with queen beds ($99) and 3 cottages, each with one queen and a foldout sofa ($120). Rates are about $20 off rack, so tell them you’re with the COG group when you reserve. - (209) 984-5271.

Riders wanting a little extra curves can meet Friday at 3 p.m. at The Hideout Saloon in Mariposa, CA.  From there we will ride The Little Dragon en route to Jamestown.

    Saturday

Saturday’s ride takes us up Highway 108 and over Sonora Pass, elevation 9,624 feet and the second-highest highway pass in the Sierra Nevada.  Then it’s down the east side of the Sierra Devil’s Gate Pass, on to Bridgeport for gas and south to June Lake for lunch at Silver Lake Cafe.  From there we will take the road less traveled east on Owens River Road into the volcanic region of Long Valley Caldera, one of the largest calderas on the planet.  Past Lake Crowley, north over Banner Ridge, then west to rejoin 395 near Mono Lake, and north to Walker, CA.

Saturday night will be in Walker at the nearly renovated Andruss Motel, 106964 US-395.  I’ve booked up half the motel and the owner is giving us a 12% discount off whatever rooms are wanted. King rooms will go for ~$105, rooms with 2 beds and kitchens are also available, just tell them you’re with COG when you book. - (530) 495-2216.  Dinner is a short walk to Mountain View Barbeque -- great menu and lots of unique microbrews.

    Sunday

Sunday we ride north on 395 through an amazing stretch of road winding along a canyon carved by the Owen’s River, then up over Monitor Pass (8,314 feet) and a breakfast stop at the Out West Cafe in Markleeville, which has a brand new outdoor deck right on main street. Then it’s west on Hwy 4 over Ebbett’s Pass (8,736 feet) and down the twisting goat path winding past remote campsites all the way back to Gold Country.  One last lunch stop in Copperopolis and then folks will be splitting off for home.

    Brrr Ride

Brr is Back!  The Brrr ride celebrates the drawing to a close of the riding season (for most of us) and has long been a staple of the COG NE calendar --- especially for the “COG Camping Crazies.”  Highlights include cabins at the KOA, “Roger / Clyde” style campfire (if it doesn’t move then burn it), great riding, walking down to the Pink Cadillac for communal dinners, (maybe not so much the hike back up the hill to the KOA), gathering for breakfast, freezing our tookas off heading to the Blue Grass charity Pancake Breakfast and especially seeing old friends and meeting new COG'ers.

Semi-organized rides are planned for Friday and Saturday. A Sunday run up to Blue Grass for the annual “Buckwheat Pancake Breakfast Benefit” is planned – we expect the event to be held Sunday, but their schedule is NOT YET ESTABLISHED.   Stay tuned to the Forum for news!

We will meet for informal group breakfast at 8am Friday and Saturday and informal group dinner at 6pm at The Pink Cadillac Diner located less than half a mile from the campground.

    Camping (and Lodging)

We will camp at the Natural Bridge KOA located at 214 Killdeer Lane , Natural Bridge, VA 24578 (cabins available - recommend early reservations http://www.koakampgrounds.com/where/va/46144.htm).

Expect folks in the KOA “Classic Camping Cabins” area (generally the “early risers”).  As we have been for the last 11 years the “COG Horseman” will be across the foot bridge in the “Newer Cabin” area – specifically cabin 63. A communal COG Campfire will be blazing between Cabins 62 & 63 – so grab cabins 62 and 64 while you can!  The KOA has also been busy constructing new cabins – some even have refrigerators.

If you are not interested in camping or cabins the Budget Inn-Natural Bridge is located less than a half a mile away right next to The Pink Cadillac Diner.
